The Peaks of the Balkans: top destination for foreign and local adventure lovers.

  The Peaks of the Balkans is a hiking trail that covers three countries, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania. This trail attracs many tourists that are in love with hiking and want to see new places, meet new people and see different cultures. Not only that they seek the beautiful sceneries but also get to know the culture of the people that live in these majestic mountains. Undoubtedly, staying in nature is a wonderful thing, however if you would have to stay for 8 days, without a doubt, that's when the magic kicks in. We were for 8 days in the most beautiful parts of the accursed mountains together with people who later not only became friends with us but also we created a bond that we would never forget. Three adventurous days through The Peaks of the Balkans: Kuqishte - Babino Polje - Grebaje - Vuthaj - Çerem.

 When you find out that you will spent 3 days in the mountains, you just can't resist it. Even more when you discover that the trail that you are going to hike it is part of the Peaks of the Balkans trail. Together with Kosovo Mountain Club we visited some wonderful hidden places deep in the Accursed Mountains and celebrated a surprise birthday party. During the past week, I was training CrossFit with my friends in CrossFit Prishtina, Hana, Vegim and Aulona were eager to go to that particular amazing hiking adventure organized by Kosovo Mountain Club. Also the positive thing about the mountains is that you always turn back wiser and gain new friends and build stronger bonds. Queen of the Accursed Mountains: Jezerca 2694m.

  As the legendary mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary once said "It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves." It was an early Thursday morning where we woke up at the Jezerca Guest House in Valbona Valley, together with 4 amazing hiking buddies we decided to reach the wonderful peak of Jezerca 2694m. Jezerca is a wonderful mountain which stands and watches above all the Accursed Mountains (Albanian Alps), it is the highest mountain in the Dinaric Alps which from this mountain range Jezerca is the highest top. Many mountaineers from across the world climb this amazing mountain every year and in different seasons.  The name of the peak translates into "Lake peak" because of the beautiful glacier lakes that Jezerca posseses, I have written about those wonderful lakes in an article last year. The Accursed Mountains: Summit of three valleys.

  "Up above the clouds there stands a mountain top that watches over three beautiful valleys." The wonderful Accursed Mountains or as people call them The Albanian Alps or "Bjeshket e Nemuna" in the Albanian language. These "out of this world" mountains offer you views that a human being can not grasp even beyond their wildest dreams and including me.  There are so many marvelous and extraordinary summits in the Accursed Mountains that are like a magnet for the adventure and adrenaline seekers. As I have mentioned at the previous articles, these mountains cover up three countries such as like: Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro. In an early Sunday morning Rinor, Lis and I woke up at Jezerca Guest House from a wonderful sleep. We were preparing our stuff and went to eat breakfast straight ahead. We thank Keli Selimaj and his staff for their wonderful and warm hospitality. With the 28th June of 2020 we were waiting for the amazing hiking organisation Kosovo Mountain Club, and the wonderful guides Arineta Mula, Adriatik Gacaferi and Adnan Beqiraj and at the same time our friends. These guys came up with a wonderful idea during the pandemic crisis and ended up founding this wonderful hiking group, that every nature lover can join and enjoy the wonderful views of our beautiful mountains of Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo and North Macedonia.  Kosovo Mountain Club's event was Stani i Rames (Rama's Cabin) and Maja e Rosit (Rosi Peak).
