The Peaks of the Balkans: top destination for foreign and local adventure lovers.

  The Peaks of the Balkans is a hiking trail that covers three countries, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania. This trail attracs many tourists that are in love with hiking and want to see new places, meet new people and see different cultures. Not only that they seek the beautiful sceneries but also get to know the culture of the people that live in these majestic mountains. Undoubtedly, staying in nature is a wonderful thing, however if you would have to stay for 8 days, without a doubt, that's when the magic kicks in. We were for 8 days in the most beautiful parts of the accursed mountains together with people who later not only became friends with us but also we created a bond that we would never forget. Happy hikers celebrating Kosova's 11th Independence anniversary. It was truly a super Sunday morning here in Prishtina. We as usually wanted to go hiking. We wanted to go to Brezovica and from there to hike up the Black Rock peak which the altitude reaches of 2,536 M high. What's more special about this Sunday morning, it was the 17th of February which means it's the 11th anniversary of Kosova's independence. With this purpose in mind, together with Hiking Njeri we kicked of from Sunny Hill (Bregu i Diellit) from 7 am in the morning and started our great adventure. Piribreg peak right in the distance.  After a long way, going through Ferizaj and stopping at Eli-Ab supermarket, we finally headed for the village called Sterpce and eventually arrived at Brezovica around 9 am. An unexpected journey from Valbona valley to Theth, in the Albanian Alps.

It was the 27th of June of 2018, a rainy day, I was staying at my apartment and suddenly I received a message on Facebook and I opened it and it was Rinor. "Do you want to come with me on an adventure?" said Rinor. "Where and when?" I replied. "Tomorrow we go hiking from Valbona to Theth ." said Rinor.  I was for a second shocked I didn't know what to say and I said, "of course man". I asked him how do we want to get there because it was obvious that neither of us hadn't cars. We decided to go and suddenly two more wanted to come with us. It was Berna with Ilir which they were eagerly waiting for that. And so it began the unknown adventure.
