  The Peaks of the Balkans is a hiking trail that covers three countries, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania. This trail attracs many tourists that are in love with hiking and want to see new places, meet new people and see different cultures. Not only that they seek the beautiful sceneries but also get to know the culture of the people that live in these majestic mountains. Undoubtedly, staying in nature is a wonderful thing, however if you would have to stay for 8 days, without a doubt, that's when the magic kicks in. We were for 8 days in the most beautiful parts of the accursed mountains together with people who later not only became friends with us but also we created a bond that we would never forget. Outdoor Kosova organized a training for future guides in the peaks of the balkans, our intructors were amazing and had professional attributes, they always kept teaching us new things. The Accursed Mountains: Summit of three valleys.

"Up above the clouds there stands a mountain top that watches over three beautiful valleys."

The wonderful Accursed Mountains or as people call them The Albanian Alps or "Bjeshket e Nemuna" in the Albanian language. These "out of this world" mountains offer you views that a human being can not grasp even beyond their wildest dreams and including me. 
There are so many marvelous and extraordinary summits in the Accursed Mountains that are like a magnet for the adventure and adrenaline seekers. As I have mentioned at the previous articles, these mountains cover up three countries such as like: Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro.

This time with my friend Ismet (the one in upper picture) we decided to join the recently founded hiking group Kosovo Mountain Club, and with our amazing friends Arineta and Adnan, which they took care for us the entire time during the ascent and descent from the amazing top of Boshi. 

So we are talking about the amazing mountain that watches over the three beautiful valleys such as: Valbona Valley, Theth and Curraj Eperm. The peak of this mountain goes up to 2416 meters above the sea level. It has a total elevation gain of 1500 meters if you decide to hike it from the Valbona Valley's side. Together with the amazing Kosovo Mountain Club we experienced fantastic sights and landscapes, rocky terrain, rocks so big that exeeded the sizes of huge buildings. Not to mention, we had the best time of our lives up there. 

This mountain was very steep the whole time we had to climb like goats, and afterwards when we arrived at the ridge of the mountain we had 150 meters elevation loss, in order to hike up to the very top. Yet, the feeling was exceptional.

Each step had to be executed carefully due to the rocks that could fall anytime, we thank the guides that took care for us in any aspect from the beginning to the end of the event, huge love towards them and many more adventures.

Our adventures aren't over just yet, what brings the future is just e mystery, so we have to enjoy the right time and the moments in our lives.

"Lepusha" The obscure village in the Accursed Mountains.

 Magnificent mountains always make sure to give us something special that no one understands, the power of the mountains that exeeds our human expectations and desires. And, such a place exists in Albania too, Lepusha.   Lepusha is a hidden village deep in the accursed mountains and has outstanding views. Lepusha is surrounded by many stunning mountains that are over 2000 meters high, the village itself has an altitude of 1300m. With the 29th and 30th Kosovo Mountain Club organized a wonderful adventure in Lepusha and the peak called Vajusha which has the most spectacular views in the accursed mountains.  During our way we saw some amazing places like this one that resembles the winding roads of Norway. This road is on the way to Selce and are called "Leqet e Hotit" and you can visit this road either by driving from Shkodra or Plav. The mountain pass of Brekije - Mustafe Village, Albania

  Last weekend, we had a wonderful adventure to the villages of Brekije, Tershene and Mustafaj. We had an amazing weather and some amazing views. Brekije is a village located deep in the mountains of the national park Korab - Koretnik in Kukes, Albania. This village has some amazing views and you can reach this village with 4x4 vehicles or with Furgona as the locals describe them. From the village to the pass the hike is around 500m elevation gain and is very suitable even for the biginners, and the descend to other two villages is around 1250m, the trail leads you to some hidden villages that lie in the foot of the mountain of Gjallica. Albania has so many mountains worth visiting, furthermore the passes that Albania posseses are one of the most beautiful passes of this region.
