The Peaks of the Balkans: top destination for foreign and local adventure lovers.

  The Peaks of the Balkans is a hiking trail that covers three countries, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania. This trail attracs many tourists that are in love with hiking and want to see new places, meet new people and see different cultures. Not only that they seek the beautiful sceneries but also get to know the culture of the people that live in these majestic mountains. Undoubtedly, staying in nature is a wonderful thing, however if you would have to stay for 8 days, without a doubt, that's when the magic kicks in. We were for 8 days in the most beautiful parts of the accursed mountains together with people who later not only became friends with us but also we created a bond that we would never forget. Wonderful adventure in Oshlak.

In a wet and rainy Sunday, we headed for an adventure in the Sharr Mountains with Kosova Hiking Trips. It was raining and foggy, we continued our journey eventhough it was humid and harsh weather. We went to Prizeren and stopped there to buy things that we needed for our hike, people were all in a bad mood and sleepy due to the weather. Nonetheless, when we arrived  near Prevalla, we got out from the bus and prepared our backpacks for our hiking adventure. First and foremost, we gathered to make a group picture and we pointed towards our main destination, together with our main guide Genti and Engjell stayed in the middle and I was the last one. "Beautiful winter colors of the Sharr Mountains."

When you are up high in the mountains, there is a calm feeling that makes you feel wonderful. Being surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks and valleys, you just wish that you could stay there forever. This picture above is captured in the wonderful mountains of Sharr, more specificaly it is taken in Brod, near the Zllipotok peak 2292m. We went before there during summer, however the views change with every season, and transform into a wonderful view like this above. When we are up in the mountains, we forget about our problems back in the city, we focus on our steps and try to challenge ourselves what ever the reason to get further and further. One may have many reasons to climb mountains, however it is the fun and joy during the ascend that makes you realize how tiny your problems in your life are. Hiking in Rugova Mountains.

Yesterday we had a wonderful adventure in the Rugova Mountains, with plenty of snow and warm sunny weather. In a chilly sunday morning we packed up our backpacks and started our way to Peja. Together with the Hiking Njeri group we planed to have a wonderful day in the Rugova Mountains.  The peak of Dramodol 2120m, is located in Rugova Mountains, it can be summited from Boga and from the village of Koshutan. Last year we went from Koshutan, however this year we wanted to hike it up from Boga. It was a really nice experience since the weather was very warm and the people were positive and eager for atventure.

Kobilica, the most wonderful peak in the Sharr Mountains.

Kobilica forest in the Sharr Mountains.  A wonderful experience at the beautiful peak of Kobilica in th e Sharr mountains.  It was a fine Saturday morning with a chilly mixed weather. When we were hiking during the most part we were under the trees in a beautiful forest, there were fallen leafes all over the place and in the shadow we could feel a cool freezing temperature, however it was a fantastic hike with a fantastic group. Kobilica, Sharr Mountains 2525m. The second part after we left the forest, we went to a mountain cabin and took a break, we had something to eat and continued to hike up to the peak following our main guide Bekim Bytyqi. The last part of the peak started to become foggy and we didn't have much of a view up there although we enjoyed it.

"Going to the mountains is like going home". That is what John Muir said and every time when I'm in the mountains I feel the same way! Days ago I went together with plenty of hikers in Popowa Shapka or also called ( Kodra e Diellit). We got up early in the morning around 5 am, in a wonderful Sunday morning we started from Prishtina and headed towards North Macedonia, we wanted to hike a beautiful mountain. In short, with 29th of September we did a fantastic adventure that will stuck in our memories. In order to arrive at Popowa Shapka we had first to drive through the city of Tetova, the city looked very polluted and I was sad to see it in that state, considering that it is surrounded by so many mountains. The journey was wonderful, the people there are friendly and they love to welcome tourist, and so is our fantastic friend and guide Ismet Şurban. "Cool breeze over the mountains"

The extraordinary views of the majestic mountains of Radika and its peak Korab left me speechless. Even though we went up and down, still somehow I feel like a part of myself stayed there. The peaks and valleys of Radika's mountain range were incredible, one cannot describe them with words.  Korab is the highest peak in Albania and Macedonia that reaches an altitude of 2764 meters above sea level. This mountains is in the border between Albania and Macedonia, the mountain range is called Radika and belongs to the Sharr mountains. In such manner, hikers, mountaineers and nature lovers across the world climb this beautiful mountain and spend their magic times of their lives. We as Hiking Njeri went there with the 8th of September, we went to the village hidden in the mountains of Radika which was called Radomire and from there we started our amazing hike with plenty of hikers. "Outstanding beauty of the Accursed Mountains that takes your breath away."

As our great adventurer Bilbo Baggins once said "Don't adventures ever have an end? I suppose not. Someone else always has to carry on the story." Bilbo Baggins is one of the main characters in the trilogy of  The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings written by J.R.R Tolkien. Few days ago me together with Rinor wanted to do an adventure and went to Decan and headed towards the Monastery of Decan. It was around 7 pm and we started our hike and went through the monastery and headed towards Prilep's mountain huts in the Accursed Mountains. We were prepared to hike over the night until we would reach the mountain huts of Prilep, however after walking for 30 minutes a vehicle passed by and stopped right before our feet, they asked us "where are you going" and we replied to them "we are heading towards the mountain huts of Prilep" and they took us with them.
