The Peaks of the Balkans is a hiking trail that covers three countries, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania. This trail attracs many tourists that are in love with hiking and want to see new places, meet new people and see different cultures. Not only that they seek the beautiful sceneries but also get to know the culture of the people that live in these majestic mountains. Undoubtedly, staying in nature is a wonderful thing, however if you would have to stay for 8 days, without a doubt, that's when the magic kicks in. We were for 8 days in the most beautiful parts of the accursed mountains together with people who later not only became friends with us but also we created a bond that we would never forget. Outdoor Kosova organized a training for future guides in the peaks of the balkans, our intructors were amazing and had professional attributes, they always kept teaching us new things. Our training instructurs were Fatos Katallozi and Mentor Bojku they both did an amazing job and en...

Wonderful adventure in Oshlak.

"Nature is wonderful indeed, a cloudy and silver sky day can turn out to be as stunnishing as this picture above"
As John Muir qouted "In every walk with nature, one recieves far more than he seeks."

In a wet and rainy Sunday, we headed for an adventure in the Sharr Mountains with Kosova Hiking Trips. It was raining and foggy, we continued our journey eventhough it was humid and harsh weather. We went to Prizeren and stopped there to buy things that we needed for our hike, people were all in a bad mood and sleepy due to the weather. Nonetheless, when we arrived  near Prevalla, we got out from the bus and prepared our backpacks for our hiking adventure.

First and foremost, we gathered to make a group picture and we pointed towards our main destination, together with our main guide Genti and Engjell stayed in the middle and I was the last one. Oshlak is a beautifull mountain and its peak goes up to 2212 meters high. It is in the middle of the Sharr mountains and when there is a clear weather you can see many mountains with a 360 degree angle. I always compare that Oshlak has a wonderful position almost like Ama Dablam in the Himalayas, from that summit you can see all of the 8000 meter summits, as well as from Oshlak you can see the whole ridge of the Sharr Mountains.

In addition, as we were hiking through the forest, the trail was covered with new fluffy snow, the weather was foggy and the trees looked very mystic when the fog camouflaged them.
On the other hand, the people did not know about their location and how the view would look like, so we just continued walking and hoping the sun to clear up our path.

Moreover, Genti and Engjell were wandering in the front line, the snow was very deep so they were opening the snow with the snowshoes. In some point in time, when we arrived at the ridge, the fog started to fade away, and after some minutes the fog vanished and the people got flabbergasted by the views of the majestic Sharr Mountains, they were over the moon. We saw a huge sea made of fogg, the mountains looked like islands, were you could set sail and follow your dreams.

Last but not least, we had a wonderful time, and the nature turned the tables once again and we could enjoy the day to the fullest. We saw wonderful colors that day, the sunset was amazing, the sun colored the clouds with a pink color that made us feel warm and calmed our spirits.
