The Peaks of the Balkans: top destination for foreign and local adventure lovers.

  The Peaks of the Balkans is a hiking trail that covers three countries, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania. This trail attracs many tourists that are in love with hiking and want to see new places, meet new people and see different cultures. Not only that they seek the beautiful sceneries but also get to know the culture of the people that live in these majestic mountains. Undoubtedly, staying in nature is a wonderful thing, however if you would have to stay for 8 days, without a doubt, that's when the magic kicks in. We were for 8 days in the most beautiful parts of the accursed mountains together with people who later not only became friends with us but also we created a bond that we would never forget. Outdoor Kosova organized a training for future guides in the peaks of the balkans, our intructors were amazing and had professional attributes, they always kept teaching us new things. "Beautiful winter colors of the Sharr Mountains."

When you are up high in the mountains, there is a calm feeling that makes you feel wonderful. Being surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks and valleys, you just wish that you could stay there forever.


This picture above is captured in the wonderful mountains of Sharr, more specificaly it is taken in Brod, near the Zllipotok peak 2292m. We went before there during summer, however the views change with every season, and transform into a wonderful view like this above.



When we are up in the mountains, we forget about our problems back in the city, we focus on our steps and try to challenge ourselves what ever the reason to get further and further. One may have many reasons to climb mountains, however it is the fun and joy during the ascend that makes you realize how tiny your problems in your life are.

This picture was taken from the top of Zllipotok that is located near the village of Brod. From there up you can see Restelica. Restelica is the very southern village in Kosovo. It is hidden deep in the forest and hills of the Sharr Mountains and has a stunning view.
Not to mention, from the peak of Zllipotok you are able to see many peaks like: Korab, Gjallica, Koretnik, Rudoka (Mans Peak) and many other mountains. 



This time we started our hiking adventure with a wonderful group of hikers, part of the way we went with the ski lift from the Ski Resort Arxhena. From up there we went ascending to the summit, which was very near from up there and we were able to reach it in no time. Laughter and fun encompanied our hike, everyone was in a fantastic mood.

"Lepusha" The obscure village in the Accursed Mountains.

 Magnificent mountains always make sure to give us something special that no one understands, the power of the mountains that exeeds our human expectations and desires. And, such a place exists in Albania too, Lepusha.   Lepusha is a hidden village deep in the accursed mountains and has outstanding views. Lepusha is surrounded by many stunning mountains that are over 2000 meters high, the village itself has an altitude of 1300m. With the 29th and 30th Kosovo Mountain Club organized a wonderful adventure in Lepusha and the peak called Vajusha which has the most spectacular views in the accursed mountains.  During our way we saw some amazing places like this one that resembles the winding roads of Norway. This road is on the way to Selce and are called "Leqet e Hotit" and you can visit this road either by driving from Shkodra or Plav. The mountain pass of Brekije - Mustafe Village, Albania

  Last weekend, we had a wonderful adventure to the villages of Brekije, Tershene and Mustafaj. We had an amazing weather and some amazing views. Brekije is a village located deep in the mountains of the national park Korab - Koretnik in Kukes, Albania. This village has some amazing views and you can reach this village with 4x4 vehicles or with Furgona as the locals describe them. From the village to the pass the hike is around 500m elevation gain and is very suitable even for the biginners, and the descend to other two villages is around 1250m, the trail leads you to some hidden villages that lie in the foot of the mountain of Gjallica. Albania has so many mountains worth visiting, furthermore the passes that Albania posseses are one of the most beautiful passes of this region.
