Summit of Dramodol 2,155 M |
It is the 10th February, a beautiful Sunday morning, what's the best thing in the morning when you have to get up and you know that you are going to spend e fantastic day in the mountains with Hiking Njeri. It has been a long time since we went together with Ben Njeri to hiking adventures, so he decided to kick off the hiking season of 2019 for Hiking Njeri and Kosova Hiking Trips with huge positive energy and plenty of amazing nature lovers. We were heading for a village that is located in Rugova mountains called Koshutan but firstly we stopped to buy water and food for our adventure furthermore Arbnor was waiting for us at the supermarket ETC. After we left the city and entered the Rugova gorge that was the moment when the amazing views started to show in front of us and that was just the beginning. There was huge mountain peaks covered in snow, the sun was shining through them, the river was turquoise and flowing as fast as ever.

In the meantime we were having fun with Abetare and Shpendi and some were sleeping some were listening music and Beni as usual was taking pictures also the driver was driving like mad. The Bus driver Visar continued to drive but then he had to stop because the road was covered with snow and ice, thus we got out the bus and took our backpacks, a girl even was wearing snow walking shoes and started to walk up the icy road of Koshutan. Before the official start of the hike we went to a balcony-like place and enjoyed the beautiful nature of Rugova Mountains, we could see the highest peak of Rugova, a mountain called Guri i Kuq which is 2,522 M high. In front of us there was a mountain that looked so huge and was called Hajla e Vranovcit and Hajla e Shkrelit.
We plunged into our hiking boots and began to hike through a forest with pines covered with snow, the weather in the beginning was warm and sunny. We arrived at our first stop and Beni was holding a speech about the surrounding mountains in front of the hikers. We stayed there for 30 minutes and had something to eat and some were taking a break, and the white mountains were looking remarkable indeed. The snow was in some place stiff as a rock and in some parts was fluffy as a milkshake, however to walk through the snow gives you a great feeling and if you fell down your hands will freeze a bit. We're almost at the last stop and from there we will attempt our ascent for the summit of Dramodol 2,155M. During our way we did some tactical ascending through the snow using the zigzag method, the snow sometimes was very deep but we could hike up because there wasn't fast winds and sometimes the clouds covered the sun and we were feeling colder so we had to wear our winter jackets. Apparently, after some couple hours of fun we arrived at the peak at the time of 14:30 PM, unimaginable views can be seen from the top, 360 degrees of Rugova Mountains.
Afterwards, we stayed there for a couple of minutes, everyone was having fun, we were eating and drinking water, the sun was shining, and we captured many pictures. On the other hand, Shpendi was eating a chicken and enjoying the view. The descent was very nice and not so hard despite the deep snow. We were playing in the snow, we tried to slide down which was absolutely amusing. What's more, for the time being on the trail a fantastic girl from Gjakova with a wonderfully name which was Leonida, she gave us delicious cookies, it was her first time hiking and she was overwhelmed from her hidden potential as a consequence she will attend more in our hiking trips. In the end, all were happy and filled with joy, that's the only thing what makes us great.
